Rebirth in death
I awake to shadow engulfed twilight,
and stand in awe of impending night.
Over the dark and twisting land I fly,
lazily threading through the evening sky.
Within me my hearts desires lie stone cold,
selfishly refusing to be controlled.
While mortal men lie in restful slumber,
I try to stave this unending hunger.
In the turmoil of my self content,
when I realize my thinking is bent,
when this darkened night brings nothing but fear,
in hesitation I draw near.
The darkness perishes...ending my flight.
With my self dying, I embrace the light.
