a thought that got away from me
Thoughtless emotion pulls the silver choke chain a notch tighter.
Expressionless the keeper leads the way.
Hands shackled and head bent; shameless I walk
Pride swallowed with a shot of acid
ease the burn of this jagged bitter pill

Blindly I await my fate, a know it all grin upon my crimson lips
Eyes hollowed and black pool of lifeless nothing
A tortured laugh lying heavy upon my tongue
The bitter cooper taste of desire and anger.
A dangerous combination of free will

Choices got me here, shackled to the demon within
My halo is tarnished and broken
My wings battered and broken
And with my broken wings I choose to die
For I broke my wings long before I learned to fly

Escape the reasons
Passion over takes practical thinking when the darkness closes in
Run wild with the strength of need
Long to capture that of loss of control
Take me there, blindly I pray
Give me to the night
Free me from this day
