To my three wonderful kids
The Day You Were Born



On the day you were born,
My world shifted
It shook and quaked and shuddered

On the day you were born,
My life altered
Transformed into a beautiful and crazy truth

On the day you were born,
I understood dreaming
Of worlds of rainbows and sunbeams

On the day you were born
I believed in magic
Of purple ponies and secret unicorns and funny pirates

On the day you were born
My heart started beating
It beat like a steam train bursting through the clouds

On the day you were born
The galaxies sighed.
The stars twinkled like never before

On the day you were born
I found timeless love
And infinite gratitude ---
