a short poem about struggling with religion
1) Have you met, my friends, the stars?

'Twas a love that blossomed on a winter's night

When I, in need of light

Looked to the Heavens- I did not find

Your God on high,

But the stars provided the ear he did lack.

And they never made the promise to talk back.

2) You'll find them in the darkest hour,

When you lose track it seems, of strength and power-

And when you need a place to share your dreams

The stars will hear them, never falter.

No need to kneel before the blood stained alter.

3) When you meet my friends, the stars,

Then give them my regards.

For daylight has settled on my soul

And night is not yet due.

But when it comes, and takes it's toll,

The stars will bear my cross and pull me through.
