History repeating itself
I toyed with the thought of you again
In the back of my mind today
I wondered if I said goodbye to you
In the fondest words I could think of
Would you come running back to me?

If I told you I loved you, would it be too repetitive?
Would you be sick of the sound of my devotion?
If I kissed you, would you turn away out of boredom?

The memory of you still makes me cry
But the voice inside me is screaming for some new material
All inspiration has dried up in this pain
Time to cut a new wound
