Picture prompt for the Writer's Cramp.
How ominous  the sky I see today!
Inside the car with tightened fist I fret.
A bit of purple mixed with black and gray;
one stagy and out-worldly climate threat.

Blue skies provide a comfort like soft red,
and cotton clouds of white are gentle stuff.
But here beyond the highway dead ahead,
it’s like Thor’s hammer ready to get rough.

Those long and coiled clouds assume a shape
as if all set to pound with wind and rain.
As weather fronts proceed, there’s no escape--
rambunctious side of nature will remain.

  Perhaps a metaphor for pain and death;
  as I drive on, I take a deeper breath.
