Sometimes the smallest wings can have the biggest impact
The Butterfly Effect

You ask if I remember?
How could I forget!
Butterflies and stomach
Churning when we met
Glimmers of a smile
Turning on full beam
Nightmares dressed in knitwear
And leather latticed dreams
Firing on cylinders
Shooting way too hard
Somewhere in the cinders
Sand forged into shards
Wedged in mirrored pathways
Lodged in all the way
I never stood a chance it seems
The way my mind, it plays
A shard in every chamber
Times I can’t forget
Trigger points are laboured
And rushed in this roulette
Ambushing from the tangents
Battles I can’t win
Wars with strange combatants
On foreign shores they swim
Shores that I could never reach
So easily in grasp
A different world, a different beach
I took my final gasp
Some things, they are just too rich
Too thick for such thin blood
It doesn’t stop the waters pitch
From clarity to mud
Obscured by bright scaled wings
Chances missed and met
You ask if I remember?
… How can I forget!
