A man in his happy place
This was IT. Well, in David’s mind, it was, anyways. The grueling and seemingly eternal workday had finally come to a close. His responsibilities delayed for a short while, David was determined to put himself amidst the most bliss of his personal heavens.

“True ecstasy,” he breathed out, and his overworked muscles, twitching with exhaustion of the hard day, loosened as he lowered himself into the steaming water.

His senses enhanced and merged, and he felt the scent of lavender and the touch of the warm water melt into his body, seeping into his dirty and sweaty pores. He covered himself in bubbles of pure nirvana, and he savored their touch against his tender soul.

David removed his arm, but only his arm, from the aquatic paradise, so he could indulge himself with the calming nectar from his favorite herbal teacup. With every sip, David’s throat was massaged to an extreme tenderness by the warm drink. This was his happy place. Nothing could change that. Nothing would ruin this utopia, this perfect state.

Feeling content, David glanced down into the his cup, for just one last sip. Suddenly, he bounded from the tub with a shriek, running in complete terror, abandoning his cup onto the bathroom tiles. Inside, sat the remains of a poor little mouse, whose time in the bathroom had not been as heavenly.
