Questioning human identity.
Every person you meet wears a mask.
These masks are not pretty and
They are not meant to be.
They are plastic - fake - and
They are meant only to hide.

The people behind them are
No better. Each is as fake
As the mask that obscures him.

The weight of the mask
Is nothing compared
To the weight of the
Lies and the pain
That every person creates.

Their power and their hold
Have an unrelenting control
On the choices people make.

And once we start making
Those lies and that pain, we
Can't ever stop.
The choices we make control us,
Stronger than gravity.

We can never fight them off.
