The daily worries of Claudia Spencer
A Spider’s Tale

My name is Claudia Spencer
And I live in a beautiful house.
It’s actually the Spenser household
So I figured, I had the right to share their name.

Now my home is in a dark corner.
Hidden from where all can see.
Because if Mama Spenser continues with her hectic lifestyle
I’ll be lucky if I survive for very long, you see.

I’d love to have little ones, and leave behind a rich legacy.
But life seems a constant battle
Because Mama Spenser clearly, doesn’t like me.

She’s continuously sweeping and mopping
It’s just devastating to see.
And I toil and strive to build the perfect home for me.

Then along comes this monster, it’s a brush upon a stick
Its power is enormous, its intention to destroy
And my beautiful, carefully woven home is gone in one swift blow.

Now I’m cowering in the corner as it surges and tries to flatten me.
My advantage is that I’m tiny and its bristles can’t reach me.

But it sure does look quite scary
So life goes on knowing, every day could be my last.
The future doesn’t look good, my lifespan already short.
And as for young ones, it’s a thankless task.

How would you feel if after hours of toiling and weaving, a giant brush came around the corner fast?
So, recently I’ve been thinking.
Do I relocate and find another house?

The trouble is, there is always another Mama
Because no one seems to like spiders in the house.
