Lexi and Daniel are friends, but will they still be after what happens?

Once there was a small girl named Lexi. Lexi was very bubbly, and always smiled. One day Lexi went to school with a gift, wrapped in blue tin. At the end of the day, she gave the small package to her friend, Daniel. Daniel, took the gift and thought nothing of it, but still showed it to his mom when he got home. The mom was surprised. She was surprised so much she told Daniel to goto the store and get a gift for Lexi. “As a token of appreciation.” Daniel didn't feel like Lexi actually deserved a gift, but he couldn’t say that to his mom, so he complied.
By the time Daniel got off the bus the next morning, he had an idea. When he met his friends at the corner, he gave the gift to his best friend, but it wasn’t Lexi. As Daniel's best friend unwrapped the gift, Lexi got suspicious. She asked why Daniel gave this to their friend, the day after Lexi gave him a gift. Daniel couldn’t think a lie Lexi would believe, so he had no choice but to tell Lexi. Lexi was astonished. She stared at Daniel in disbelief. Feeling like she was going to cry, she ran away from him, betrayed. The rest of the day she was quiet, and wouldn’t smile.
Daniel couldn't believe how shocked and sad Lexi was when she found out. He felt guilty.
When Daniel got home, he told his mom that the gift was stolen by a bully at school before he could give it to Lexi. He asked if he could go back to the store…
The next day, Daniel came to school hoping Lexi would talk to him. He saw Lexi standing alone by the wall. He walked slowly towards Lexi. Lexi looked up, and looked away. Daniel stood in front of her until she looked up. When she did, Daniel showed her a bouquet of flowers, filled with all the colors in the world. Lexi was shocked… Then she smiled.
