An assassin, with a heart of gold?

It was dark and unforgiving night, hailstorm just came by and destroyed everything in its path leaving people helpless and those who outside, mostly left unconscious while the one who survived seek shelters underground. A shadowy figure just watch in pleasure as people remains unconscious until the next morning, he wasn't sure why those hailstorm isn't hitting him, and one question remains.. who is behind this tragedy that led to mass killing of hundreds of people?

That shadowy figure stood up and perch onto a flag pole as the hailstorm passed by his head. Watching those peasants killed by the hailstorm was fun. He said to himself with an evil smile. He then sat down on a balcony, looking upon the horizon and the port below it, his keen eyes can see what's going on that port. It seems people are dealing drugs, apparently. He guessed, and he's off to the harbor to look a little bit closer.

"You know, Andrew, this is the best deal we ever had." Said one of the seller henchmen.

"I'm sure you're quite pleasant with our goods here; it's the best quality, and it's very uncommon here," Andrew said while touching the henchmen's shoulder.

"Here's the amount of money we agreed beforehand, is it 60 gold bars with 15 titanium alloys as a "side dish"? Is this what you requested, Andrew?" said Gonzales, the Endless Flight's boss while handing the payment in two black Briefcases

"Ah, yes, it's all here and nice to do some business with you guys. I have quite enjoyed it, and I'll look forward to another deal." Andrew said while exchanging the goods with the money. "It is time for me to go, I don't want to deal with authorities. Farewell!" He said while running towards his car, parked near a stack of empty containers.

The deal is fine and secretly well-handled, Andrew and Gonzales quickly pack their things and bounce off the port as soon as the deal finished. The shadowy figure who watch the deal amongst the darkness are intrigued with the amount of money Andrew got. He then decided to follow Andrew from the darkness. Ah, another easy kill for me. 60 gold bars and 15 titanium alloys, worthed more than $500.000--this should be my paycheck for this month. He said to himself while at the same time thinking about what procedure he is going to use to kill Andrew. This shadowy figure found an excellent vantage point where he can see Andrew's car; he prepared his trusted Ancient Mosin-Nagant that passed down from his great-great grandfather. He put one reinforced hollow point round to its chamber and adjust his scope to 2.5 km of range, without wind compensation. He looked through his scope, and he pulled the trigger leaving Andrew who was driving in the car killed with blood scattered around his windows. It must be a headshot. He guessed, he drops off from the vantage point and take whatever inside then disappear into the darkness of night.

He took away the briefcase, and he's heading back to his lair, the Dark Alleyway, which according to the locals, is a place "where your spirit is equal to 4 gold bars.". However, in the Dark Alleyway, that shadowy figure is considered as the kindest of all, the generous of all, because he never messes with another people and contributed himself for the sake of his community. He exchanges the gold bars and titanium alloys for money and giving it to the poor and other gangs that reside in the Dark Alleyway.

Talon and Overwatch seem irritated by his presence, his community, and what he builds from the start. The shadowy figure never represented any gangs or organized criminal groups, he never joined one of them or even getting in their way, he worked alone and lived all by himself for the rest of his life. The constant attack from joint forces between Talon and Overwatch made him very unsatisfied and decided to leave the place at once. Their guardian now abandons the gangs, but he never leaves someone behind, he sniped everyone that oppose the Dark Alleyway and tried to save who he thinks that need serious help. His help wasn't enough for them as the locals and other gang members are getting slaughtered on their land, and some of them were in prison due to some problem either with Overwatch or Talon. Wives and children relocated, and the men slaughtered like a cattle in a slaughterhouse, the shadowy figure can't stand it and after killing more than 150 soldiers from Talon and Overwatch, he escapes through the darkness and never been found, and thus the Dark Alleyway eradicated from its existence.

"Dark Alleyway, the only home.. is gone." He said while looking at the ruins of the Dark Alleyway.

"It's a sad time, brother." Said one of his associate, Helen Farnborough.

"Thank God you survived this hell, Helen. I thought that you never make it out alive, " he said while rubbing Helen's hair.

"You thought us the art of escape, and I'm the only one who use it very efficiently." She boasted.

"We should separate from this day, Helen. Wish I can do more to save those people, but I think I failed to do my job as the guardian." He sorrowed.

"No, no. You're doing a great job, brother. Even in their death, they still worship you as their guardian and the harbinger of death for those Talons and Overwatchers." Helen admitted while hugging The Shadowy Figure from his side. "Let darkness united us once again, see you later," Helen added while she leaps from one building to another.

The shadowy figure decided to find another place to live far away from the ruins of the Dark Alleyway, which he cannot forget and deleted from his thoughts, all the blood, all the dismembered body parts, he can't stand that.

One day, he found an old house with a good vantage point in it, people said that the house abandoned by its owner and no one wants to reclaim it, he then headed to the Mayor's Office and bought the house with his stolen cash he gets from Andrew. He set up some sandbags upstairs and a binocular telescope to secretly watching people movements and also to spot anything suspicious from inside his house.

"Did we get that man in black?" said Gerhardt, Talon and Overwatch Chief of Command.

"Negative, sir. We cannot locate The Shadowy Figure." Said one of the Overwatch soldier.

"Damn it!" he yelled while punching his office's wall. "I want that man right now! Dead or Alive!" he shouted then ordered all the soldiers inside his office to get immediately out from his office and find The Shadowy Figure.

"Understood, sir." Said one of the soldiers while saluting him and walks out from his office.

"Bring me Tracer and Widowmaker." He commanded to his secretary.

"Is there anything we can do, sir?" Tracer said while sitting down on a bench.

"Track this Man In Black; we get some report from the citizen that he lives around Upper Market District around this area, probably 5km to the east. Spy around his house and snatch him from his lair. Any questions?" he explained and asked.

"No, sir. Understood."

"Good work, now get going."

"It seems people are doing usual things, ain't it?" said one of his associate, Daniel Guerrera while looking at his binocular telescope.

"I supposed so; nothing is suspicious, for now." He said while looking through his rifle scope.

"Look there, amigo! I remember those two ladies over there." He shouted silently. "45 degrees to the left, right at 10 o'clock." He coordinated.

"Tracer and Widowmaker, everyone's favorite bitches. Guerrera, prepare some silencer and two high doses of tranquilizer ammunition." The Shadowy Figure requested.

"Si, brother." He said while running to the ammunition stockpile. "Here you go, master." He said while handing him over the ammunition and the silencer.

"Wait downstairs to make their kidnapping easier." The Shadowy Figure commanded.

"Affirmative," Guerrera affirmed.

"So, where's this guys house, love?" Tracer said while she is looking around the Upper Market District, which at that time a lot of people is bartering.

"According to our intel, he lived in an abandoned house not far from here and people said that his house is never lit up," Widowmaker said while she is regularly checking her GPS.

"Probably that..."

"Tracer!" Widowmaker shocked while holding the unconscious Tracer.

As she turns on her visor, she already been neutralized and taken into the Shadowy Figure's House, and they've never been heard again.

"Good work, Guerrera. Now leave this place at once, I can handle this."

"Yes, master. Shadows be with you." Guerrera said while jumping out from the window and disappeared into thin air.

Shadow hangs them on the wall, waiting for them to wake up from their accidental slumber while he was cleaning his old rifle and occasionally upgrading the gun to its maximum performance. While they're unconscious, he destroyed their communications system and stripping off their weapons and armor, leaving them naked and defenseless.

"Well, well, what do we have here," Shadow said while approaching them.

"You! Why you do this to both of us?!" Tracer panicked. "Let us out and we'll promise never spied on you again!" she begged.

"You bastard!" Widowmaker shouted.

"Now, now.. calm yourself down. Here's something to wear, your clothes apparently becoming my campfire fuel and your weapons already smelted for my ammunition." Shadow said while showing them their burnt clothes and their gun smelted at the smelter.

"Who are you?! Why are you terrorizing the innocents?!" Tracer interrogated.

"It's my job to keep evil people outside my boundaries," Shadow said while sheathing his signature knife, The Headecapitator. "You don't understand my way of life; you just keep killing the innocent, my people, who want to take a refuge here because our land has perished." He continued. "But it seems, you guys never getting tired of killing more innocents than I do." Shadow blurted.

"You.." Tracer bickered. "Let us go!" she pleaded.

"You can run, but you can't hide," Shadow said while opening their bondage and set them free.

"Thank you, bastard. Now tell us who you are?" Widowmaker said while she threatens him with a simple dagger she found on the floor.

"I'm Luciferous. That's all you need to know." Luciferous said while he is wielding his knife. "Your presence is here disturbing my whole life; you killed all of my people, and a lot of them were innocent to the Overwatch and the Talon. But, it does not matter now. What is important now is your right to live, love, and life. You guys seem hungry, ate some of my meal here." Luciferous said while handing them his soup.

"You sure this is not poisoned?" Tracer asked.

"I made this for both of you. Put on some clothes; it's getting colder now." He said while he's making a good quality French coffee.

"So, to make it a little bit easier to memorize your name, what should we call you?" Widowmaker asked.

"Lucifer. I know it sounds intimidating, but that's my callsign. By the way, pleased to meet you, it's my honor to see you guys in person." Lucifer said while handshaking both of them and continue spying on people.

"How do we know that we can trust you?" Widowmaker asked.

"Tomorrow morning, we'll go out for a walk, and I think some festival is going on near that old pier," Lucifer said while pointing at the pier below.

This Shadowy Figure, or shall we call him "Lucifer," is the one who operates any kidnappings and homicides by himself, he does not bound to a contract nor hired by people. He just does it as he sees fit, and he does it just for fun.

"We're going to a festival?" Tracer yelled happily.

"We are. Now, let's continue walking and you wouldn't realize how close the festival is." Lucifer said while winking at both of them.

"So, why are you killing people beforehand?"

"Like I said multiple times, I kill individuals who oppose me--who threaten my life and my people. I never shot my bullets into an innocent man." He stated. "You see," he said while giving someone's children candy. "Inside me, there's a good guy vibe. I am not inherently evil as you thought--as your superiors told you. You're welcome, have a nice day." He explained while replying to the child's mother.

"I am afraid that you're not easy enough to be trusted as a friend," Widowmaker said while she is curiously watching Lucifer's movements and body language.

"You can trust me as a friend. Let's go have a visit to that cafe over there." He said while pointing at the old restaurant near an intersection.
