Poem for the Writer's Cramp
WHEN THE LIGHTS GO OUT

Soon will pass our Halloween
Ghastly terrors shriek and shout
Might we tremble in the dark
Will we cringe when lights go out

When we face All Hallows' Eve
Ghosts and Goblins flit about
Get ready for the end of day
Be safe inside when lights go out

Should witch and warlock track you down
Don't flinch and fold to fear and doubt
Hold strong in face of "Trick or Treat"
Stand your ground when lights go out

Don't lose your nerve when they appear
They'll linger not but flee in rout
For in the morning school will call
They need their sleep when lights go out
