It's difficult to concentrate when something special waits
I'd been thinking about it all afternoon. It was to the point that I was having trouble concentrating. Glancing up from my workstation at the large clock on the wall. An inward groan as I saw only two minutes had clicked by since the last time I found myself looking at where the big and little hands were. Had time stopped or something? Grumbling under my breath, I went back to my work. The keys clicking as my fingers flew across the keyboard as if that might also will time to go faster. Perhaps it worked because it seemed almost too quickly the reminder flashed across the display. With a grin, I unchained myself from my desk and hurried to the lunch room. Already licking my chops. Plucking my lunch bag from the refrigeration and quickly taking a seat. Digging into the bag. Ignoring the sandwich and chips and even the drink. No, I had a different goal in mind. Securing the small wedge wrapped in the pretty purple foil. Eyes wide. Pupils dilated. Reverently, I unwrapped the treat. Holding it between my thumb and forefinger. Admiring the sleek darkness of it. A deep inhale. Heart thumping. Pulse beating. Without further ado, I popped the morsel in my mouth. The burst of flavor triggered a wave of pure pleasure happiness. Coating my tongue, spilling down my throat. Dark chocolate always made it better.
