"It's a gift sometimes, but the majority of the time it feels like a curse."
Chapter 1, The hit.

Staring at herself in the mirror she couldn't recognize herself. The brown eyes framed by long black hair, it was her all right. She just couldn't recognize herself though, it was the way she felt inside that seemed to not fit in the reflection, she didn't used to look like this. She used to be happier.
Well that was before, never mind lets not get into that can of worms. She had a job to do, one that she really needed to prepare for, but nothing seemed to fit well with her, she was on edge more than ever. Just like the night she was forced to live this way; the way she has lived for years and never seemed to change.
Stepping out of her room a man was waiting for her, he was years older than her with a beard coming out of his face, he wore a suit but it seemed to awkwardly fit onto his body. He looked extremely uncomfortable, but as she walked into the room it lit something in him, and made him get on his feet.
"You look beautiful." He said breathlessly. She rolled her eyes with a frown that broke his heart, but it was to be expected, she never thought of herself as anything more than the killer she was made into.
"Redgenal, can you do me a favor?" She asked flirtatiously, he looked at her willing to please her with anything she would ask. "Never compliment me again unless you mean it." She smirked violently at him, and then swept by him like he was a pile of trash, -which he was but we'll get to that a little later-, as they left the Hampton Hotel they were staying in, they soon arrived at the large New York party where congressmen, and other important people met.
The party was full of people, it was one of those parties you see on television with fancy drinks, and everyone looks over the age of forty unless you were a rich mans third wife, then you looked like you were just married to him to get through college then go to the next rich dirt bag that promised you a better pay out. Though the party was extravagant the people around were the worst people to ever walk around the earth, their souls ugly and their worlds build up their reputation that no one can see the horrid demons that they really are. She saw them all how they really are, she saw what they really looked like. Slimy snakes, that would slither into a child crib and steal its youth if they could, then say it was the greater good because the child would only waist away their youth not knowing what to do with it.
These people were disgusting.
Some worst than others, and there were few, so few, a handful, no more than you can count on your hands that weren't grotesque, but they did have dirt on them, but that is to be expected in everyone. Everyone has dirt, if they don't they are children, or disabled.
Her eyes could see what only some people dream to see. She saw their souls. She couldn't see the make up, or the dresses, or the expensive suits, she saw their literal souls, and their real intentions.
Green gas came out of the mouths of liars, and pink velvet looking gas came out of people who told the truth. It wasn't a huge sputter of gas, and it didn't last long, but it was at the corners of their mouths, more or less it was dripping slobber that showed different colors. The worse the lie, the darker the green color.
She could only see the gas, she could only see the souls. She didn't want to, but as I have said before it was a game changer in her life, before she was normal, like you and me.
A short goblin looking man came up to her, looking her up and down, he had green gas marks covering his lips, and red bulging eyes that looked as if he were demonic or high. His face was wrinkling beyond compare, and his fat fingers twitched with some sort of anticipation.
"You must be Redgenals date, you are as dashing in person as you are in the photos." A pink gas so slightly drops from his jaws, he gurgles a laugh and elbows Redgenal in the ribs. In real life the man is a large man, but he has a youthful face, and a smile that looked friendly and inviting, his eyes were a beautiful ice blue that could cut down men in one look, and was well groomed to be rubbing elbows with the most finest.
"How do you do?" She said subtly holding out her hand, but terrified to touch the fat fingers she saw. The hand clutched hers, they were clammy and disgusting feeling.
"Fine, fine, but now this boring night has gotten a lot more exciting." He said winking at her, she ripped her hand away and slid back to Redgenals side.
Redgenal tapped her three times on the shoulder telling her to look at three o'clock. She saw the worst person in the room, he was tall with dark black hair, eyes black as coal, skin so white it made him look sick. The thinness of his body made him look like he was starving. His smile stretched ear from ear when he saw her, they locked eyes, and fear shook in her body making her want to vomit. "That's who the hit is on." Redgenal whispered in her ear. Her heart pounded and looked at him, trying to see if it was a lie, but it wasn't. Her ex fiance was the hit, the man who would chase her to the ends of the earth was the hit, the man who haunted every nightmare was the one she was to take out.
"Look at what the cat dragged in." He said greeting her with a wicked smile, bile rose to her throat; she took in a shaky breath facing her biggest fear, she smiled and looked calm as she possibly could, draping herself over Redgenals arm like a piece of candy she giggled a little.
"Oh look what the dog threw up." She said with calmness, and a devilish smirk. Redgenal looked down at her with a raised brow a smirk on his face.
"I've missed your sharp tongue, Kitten, care for a dance?" He asked her, her smirk dropped, Redgenal handed her over and excused himself for a drink, she was encompassed by fear, the dark man took her hand softly, it was warm and welcoming. Her heart fluttered as he lead her to the dance floor, she remembered what he looked like before he looked like a monster, he had beautiful green eyes, tall and beautiful lips that were so kissable. Now his face looks distorted, his mouth looks so horrid and his teeth sharp as a sharks.
The worst thing about him, was he still told the truth to her, he still meant every word he said to her. He didn't walk away from her, she walked away from him when this curse came, it was a bad misfortune. She closed her eyes as they danced, it was the dance they were supposed to dance to at their wedding. She knew it by heart, she let him lead, it felt so good. It felt so natural, everything he said in her ears were perfect, she held tightly to him. He felt the same way he did when they were in love, she was still in love with him, she still wanted to be with him. If she was only blind, if only she wasn't an assassin now. Taking a sharp breath in, she pulled out the small pin full of poison, it was a killer dose. It was completely untraceable but it triggered cardiac arrest three times over, and will kill him in seconds.
She took a deep breath in, forgetting the feelings, and telling herself it wasn't her fault, telling herself that she was never in love. The she slid the pin from the glove on her hand to his neck, she looked up into the eyes that were hallowed out and stole her confidence away. She thrust the pin into his neck. Letting him drop to the floor as she left the party. People became frantic.
As she left the party a man who looked completely normal to her, walked in, he was dressed all in leather, and nodded to her as they crossed paths. She didn't want to notice him though, she raced to the car, she met Redgenal who had the car ready. They drove away.
