Love lost, love found... a spiritual yet fatalistic love-eternal...
On a warm, sunny day, two lovers were walking hand in hand, glowing from within. They were contented in the paradise of the love they shared. Without warning, a shadow fell upon them and a fierce wind began to blow, parting them from the comfort of their embrace. The woman watched in terror and disbelief, as the man was taken in by the voracity of the storm, consumed by the torrents of dust and debris. She was left standing there, alone and afraid, wondering what had become of the man; her soul mate, the fulfillment of her dreams and desires.

The woman searched frantically for the love she had lost, calling out for him with every breath, but silence was the only reply. In her desperation, she sat down on a large rock and began to cry, asking, "God, why have you taken him from me?" As she sat there weeping, her tears of sorrow falling upon the ground, a stream began to flow from beneath her feet. The stream became a river, and the river flowed into a long valley, where it became a cool lake, quenching the thirst of all things that lived upon that land.

In a distant place, the man awoke, dusty and confused. His life had been spared. Looking around, he searched for his woman-love, but soon realized that he was alone, in a place that he had never seen before. His body ached, as he lay there motionless, burdened by his pain. He wondered what had become of the woman; his soul mate, the fulfillment of his dreams and desires. In the heat of the noonday sun, his mind was filled by the pleasant memories that he shared with the love now lost.

Then, his thoughts were interrupted by the sound of trickling water, coming from a nearby stream. He followed the narrow stream, hoping it would lead to some place that he had been to before. Somehow, the land seemed familiar, but he had never seen that stream before. As he walked, he could hear the sounds of a faint murmuring in the distance. It led him onward, and the stream became a long, beautiful lake.

Gazing across, to the other side of the lake, he saw the love of his heart’s desire. The only thing between them was the lake of tears. Seeing her upon the large rock, still weeping, he was overcome with joy. He cried out to her, "My love, come to me!" They plunged into the water, swimming swiftly, determined to be united again, at the soonest possible moment. Upon their reunion in the center of the lake, they embraced passionately, vowing, "We shall never be parted again!" They held each other tightly, smiles upon their faces, glowing from within. They began to sink, but never loosened their grip from each other’s arms. And as they drowned, they knew that they would never be parted again. At last, united forever, their souls now joined together, they had become one.
