My transformation after abuse is like a rose growing

Flower

By Danielle

My roots start to spread like the love in the hearts of humankind

Growing, with every kind word and loving hand,

Nourished,

I am but a bulb.

God's hand has blessed me.

When I thirst He sends rain.

He is the Gardener, my friend.

Changing,

Pushing out of my shell,

Stronger,

I am a stem.

Nourished,

Watered and loved I grow.

The Gardener comes and gives me hope.

He leaves me, His precious plant, but ne'er alone.

His servants love and care for me,

Just as He.

I grow a leaf.

Turning toward the light, my leaf uncurls.

Small and weak, my leaf catches the sun's rays,

Bringing life anew.

Slowly, ever so slowly I mature into what my Gardener wishes me to be.

Through his servants' love and kind hand, I grow.

The Gardener returns, looking upon me, his flower, he smiles.

I am a Rose.
