When you lose someone that has brought both happiness and pain into your life
You pushed me into deep waters
Knowing I couldn’t swim,
But you leaped in to help me
Keeping my nose hovering above water.

Your words spoken to me were
always loving and gentle
But what you said about me
Left necrotic wounds in my back.

Moments with you were black and white
And now that you’ve left this earth
I’m left with gray memories
And chaotic emotions.

While I am hurt that you’re gone,
My monochrome heart is barren,
Leaving me unable to shed a tear
