I’m posting something, anything to simply get started
I’ve been a member of writing.com for about a year and keep telling myself that I’m going to dive in and get started on my writing. The reason I signed up in the first place is because I wanted to be surrounded by a community that was serious about writing and that could help me to take my writing to the next level.

The next level? What does that even mean? For me, that means actually writing. I have a company, a website, and a blog. I consider myself to be a vert solid writer - a good writer even. I enjoy copywriting for my work and helping other people to make their writing even better. But, I get stuck when I start thinking about all the things that I wish to write about. Sometimes my ideas are so jumbled and complex that I don’t think I can tease them apart. Other times, I don’t have any ideas at all, and become enraged with jealousy at the prolific writers out there. What do they have that I don’t? And, then the next thought pops up that’s I’m just not good enough. That I truly do not have what it takes to be a great writer, or even a good one.

So I do nothing. I’m sure this may sound familiar and trite to all of you who have already passed through this phase of doubting, but I’m here and have been stuck here for over ten years - probably fifteen years.

That’s why today, on January 5, 2017, I have decided to write some words. They’re a little rough, a bit rambling, but they are mine and I’m not judging. I’m just writing.

Done.
