For the one that never got caught in the first place
The Puzzle

A peace that's always missing
The piece that just won't fit
However hard the thoughts sting,
an errant jigsaw sits

With borders framed so fearful
Cast sepia in tone
From a jig... sore, tearful
Dancing, there alone

With moves forced, incoercible,
and steps, a clunky glide
A picture irreversible,
locked on the other side

A fractal broken looking glass
A vision, crystal... cracked
The puzzle strains, wants holding fast
Slow, bleeding, needing... lacked

In the wake of one way traffic
We adapt, get lost... we fall
In silence, stark and graphic
We make no noise at all

Resolving hopeless puzzles
Riddled with desire
Answers choked in muzzles
Whilst chances mass, conspire

With fate arranged on platters
Silver plated, shiny, true
Some dishes, they don't matter
Some things, they aren't for you

Pieces that will never sit
However hard we try
A peace where we will never fit
… this puzzle's lullaby
