day to day life of being a stay at home mom
This is my first time writing like this so please bear with me. To start of let me introduce myself. My name is Casandra aka Cassie, I am 28 years of age, engaged to my wonderful fiancé Aaron who is 36 years of age, and I am a stay at home mom of 5. I have one biological daughter her name Laura and she is three years of age, and I have 4 step kids: Scarlett who is 9, Domanic who is 11, Isayah who is 14, and Elizabeth who is 15. So yes a pretty busy household most of you would think right with having a house hold of 7. Sadly we are not only busy but very complicated; my fiancé and I share custody with the other biological parents. So in turn just as of the rest of the summer we have Laura fulltime except for every other weekend when she goes to her fathers she is picked up by her father Friday afternoon and I pick her up Sunday afternoons. Scarlett spends every other week at her mothers, their schedule is Friday- Friday. Isayah and Domanic live full time with their mother and we get them holidays and summer vacation. Last but not least Elizabeth lives full time with her mother and grandmother and comes by only when she wants to. So as I stated previously we are a very complicated household. Sadly didn't get to have the boys this year due to money, And Elizabeth hanging out with friends.
Now on to the daily routines and other random this I deal with. I start my day by listening to the fiancé's alarm going off at 6 o'clock am and then proceeding to wake him up usually results in him groaning about getting up. Then hes up he goes and lets our puppy Saphira out returns to our apartment starts coffee and getting ready for work, I'm usually laying down at this point. before he leaves he comes in kisses my forehead and says love ya ill talk to you later.
Around 8 o'clock am laura will crawl out of bed and crawl into mine for morning hugs and to tell me that its time for breakfast. this usually takes us to 9:30 am to just figure out what she wants to eat. we go through every breakfast item 3 times before i get an answer of cereal or yogurt. Then we sit and watch some cartoons my little pony, princess sofia, or barbie while she plays.
Around now it is 10:30 am and little miss scarlet is just rolling out of bed, so comes out and sits on the couch and then is reminded to hurry up and eat breakfasft or she will have to wait to lunch. which takes her about 20 min to figure out.
As girls are playing in their room, playing with the puppy, or reading i start going through and figuring out what we all need in the house ie: food, toiletries, clothes, bills ( you know adulting), aslo cleaning the floors almost daily, cleaning the kids room, bathroom, kitchen, livingroom/dining room, and my own bedroom which takes a little over 3 hours to do to my standards. Then theres gathering up laundry and taking the trash out. And of course dont forget the puppy who is brought out 5 times a day when we are home and bc shes a growing puppy fed three times a day. Then its lunch time which takes the girls 15-20 minutes to figure out what they want about 15 minutes after lunch its snack time. Back to more playing or watching a movie until Aaron gets home from work then dinner a little bit of family time then girls are off to bed.
While Aaron is at work we also have a lot of playdates at my friend Nicoles where is most days has her kids plus the children she babysits which start some days as early as 11 am and usually dont leave until around 7 pm. this is concluded of the following kids Laura, Scarlett, Mya, Makayla, Paighton, Autumn, Ryker, Kieren, and Remington and the following adults Nicole and myself. These days consist swimming, trampoline jumping, walks, park, swinging on swing set at nicoles house, and playing with the 5 dogs; who are Saphira, Ruby, Buster, Gizmo, and Max. When they all sit down to eat lunch usually picnic style on nice days outside. Back to playing until dinner time around when nicoles husband Mike and Aaron are both back from working that day so we have a cookout, hang out for about 15 minutes after dinner then packing up and going home for the night.
Every Monday and Tuesday Aaron plays softball and depending on start time depends on if the whole family goes or just Scarlett.
So and when Aaron is home on the weekends it consists of fishing, dog parks, more cook out with Nicole, visiting his parents and walks. Pretty basic on weekends.
In conclusion to this long story we are a very active family who never stop we are go, go, go. I love my family and wouldnt change it for the world. Next time I write about them I will be including conversations I have with all of them.
