I once knew a dog...
Under the tree here
Lies a small dog.
Its name was Lil’ Woofer.
It liked chasing frogs.

It lived with a Papa,
A Mama, and son.
It loved having walkies.
It lived just to run.

It ran far and fast and
It just couldn’t stop.
It met with a car where
It fell with a flop.

The funeral was brief,
Many tears there were shed.
Even I dropped a flower
On Woofer’s new bed.

Many years now have passed,
He’s forgotten and gone.
Yet here now I sit,
Wishing he had lived on.
