A poem about my writer's block.
I hoard a thousand words inside my skull
the stories and ideas are loud
the characters claw at the backs of my eyes
and when I sit down to spell out their world
I stare in agony at the whiteness
the letters frozen in my motionless fingertips
and I die a bit each time
as the novel fails to pierce through
my storyteller’s lips.
