Poetry for motivation
It is baking hot and sweltering.
No air, no air-
How can I smell, how can I see
The tar on the metal that's cramped upon me
Like the pie in a blistering hot sandwich?
No air, no air-

I've stood and I've fallen countless times
Not fair, not fair -
How would I feel, how would I know
That what I gave to buy pleasure
Was all the strength I owned
And that the pleasure was pain?
Now I'm as weak as an empty nylon bag.
Not fair, not fair -

Once again, I am tempted to sit
And wail like a dead wild lion.
No cares, no cares -
How would I stand, how can I fight
If I am losing all my strength in tears?
If I see no light?
No cares, no cares -

This is my battle, this is my war.
No fears, no fears -
How would I speak, how would I breathe
When parched is my throat
And simmered my tongue?
How would I quench this heat?
No, I would put my heart in my mouth
My own blood would quench my thirst.
I would melt out the tar in the flames-
The flames that is my breath.
I would walk through this hell
Through this hell with a smile.
