A poem about unrequited love
Do you think about me in those quiet times?
As you drift off to sleep, am I on your mind?
I think about you, more than I'd like.
You sneak into my thoughts when my mind is quiet.
You're imperfect, flawed, funny and sweet.
You make me laugh deeply and grin like a fool.

Do you think about me when you have something to share?
Does my name come to mind at inopportune moments?
I see the good in you; though you can hide it well.
I feel you are good, a little damaged and scarred.
I know your potential to be a great man.

Do you think about me when you think about love?
Am I even considered when you look to your future?
I can see us together - it's happy and bright.
There's mischief, fun and blissfully quiet nights.
I feel safe in your arms; warm, loved and protected.

Do you ever think about me as I think about you?
Do you ever wonder about your future at all?
You look for love but in all the wrong places.
You waste energy on endeavours keeping you static.
I would build you up - help you grow and succeed.

Do you think about me? I think about you.
Unrequited or not, I am in love with you.
It's hard to admit because I know the truth,
I'm just a girl you know whose company you like.
I know that I'm more but you don't see,
Because I really don't believe that you think about me.
