Everyone is special, learn to love yourself for the way you are.

I look myself into the mirror
And see a lot of things.
Freckles, spots and cowardice,
Amidst a lot more other things.

I cry at times, and wonder
Why I was made the way I am.
Is it just me, the fault that lay in my destiny?
Or the whole universe to blame for this fallacy.

I look at other girls my age,
Their talents fill my heart with envy
They are beautiful, smart and all in vain,
Whereas I am...nothing much to gain.

I pray; I change myself
Friends, behavior, clothes and all.
I also change my tone in which,
I speak to them all.

I wish to be accepted by them,
Wish to be loved, cared and encouraged.
But when I look myself into the mirror,
All is see is gloom, hatred and fear.

I wait and watch, for the right time to come,
I know some day will approach, when I will prosper.
I do nothing, but sit and sit and sit,
And when nothing happens, I cry out in fear.

I curse my luck and withdraw from everything,
The ill luck which fills my life.
I am in pain, deep burning pain,
That which only I understand, no one else to say.

And then, after a long time , when I look into the mirror again,
A thought comes to my head, so swift I fail to name it.
I wait , hope for it to come again,
And when it doesn't, I walk towards it with strength.

Now, I see courage, positivity and beauty,
I see myself as a strong, confident pearl.
She has nothing to fear, nothing to cry about,
Nothing to say, 'oh you good for nothing girl'.

I learn to laugh more, grin more and smile
Nothing to feel weary about , even the dark blue sky.
I go out and enjoy my worth and beauty,
I see, I have a lot to add to the world's serenity.

I realised, comparison ,is what, we make ourselves,
No one does it but us.
Forever, we see ourselves as dogs of the street,
When in reality , we are horses of the highest breed.

For talent, worth and importance, is something we all possess,
It just takes some time , or maybe forever to confess.
But when we do accept the fact, that strength is on our side,
We can make sure we proceed and win world's every fight.
