Awkward Things


Words are such awkward things at times
When stirred feelings try to take form -
Especially in capturing the moment -
When lovers' eyes meet, and hearts start to chime.

Emotions are such awkward things at times
When welling up from deep within -
Especially on days when time is short -
And life's demands thwart their tentative climb.

Falling in love can be awkward at times
When the magic is kindled anew -
And sensual flames burn 'way life's demands -
When time stops, and souls dance in rhyme
