When your heart is in two places.
Today I play the fool again
Scorning the best of men
Because you bled into my soul
And the purity there you stole

Are you thinking of me?
He’s burdened with jealousy
Over you
He sees right through
My vain attempt to hide
The passion you planted inside

I listen to a soft song
And my eyes long
For the tears to stop falling
But in my dreams you’re calling,
“you belong with me”
And there’s nowhere I’d rather be
So why isn’t it so?
Fate moves too slow

My grasp is slipping from hope
I will soon elope
With doubt
While my heart still shouts,
“I’m lost!”
Look what silence has cost
Sentenced to eternally miss
Your inspiring kiss

I can see my end
The message too old to send
Leaning out a windowsill
Long ago having this life’s fill
And watching under a quiet sky
As the ghosts of you and I walk by
