A webnovel i am making. I also post to Webnovel.com
"Blood is the life force, without it we do not exist." said the woman with ruby lipstick. The room was filled with thick smoke that dulled out the glow of the oil lamps and candle chandler above. Gentleman dressed in fine suits and large top hats enjoyed their cigars while intently focused on the woman. She was a sight to behold. Her hair was black as night, her skin pale as marble. She wore a red silk gown that hung to every curve of her perfect body. She spoke with a very distinctive and commanding Doverian accent that could woo any southern gentleman. And it did.
"I assure you gentleman we will have blood. It is time for our kind to come out of the shadows and demand our place in this word." the woman said bringing the crystal wine glass to her lips. The thick red liquid inside gone with the tilt of her head.
"Let's begin."

The clock on the wall ticked on, chiming at the nine o'clock hour. Levy sat at his desk reviewing the blueprints of a new project he was overseeing. This was not the first project he had overseen, but it was by far the largest. He knew every part of the building plans he was looking at. The factory would be state of the art, capable of mass production on a scale never seen up until then. It was ambitious and very expensive so any issues that could arise had to be taken into account.
Levy looked at the clock on the wall.
"Nine o'clock already?" Levy thought wiping the tiredness out of his eyes.
Levy poured himself a glass of tea from the kettle he kept nearby. Mint green tea was his favorite it seamed to calm him down if only for a little while. He looked out the large window of his study, it rained that day and the street below was still covered in dampness. He could hear the bustling of the evening. The night had only just begun. Day workers were just getting home as night workers began their night.
It had been forty years since the revolution. So much had changed since then, the buildings long destroyed by fire had all been replaced or refurbished. Levy's house was on the outskirts of the town, just inside the great wall. The wall ran around the entire town of Doverton. At every corner and gate were light towers which housed the royal guard.
Doverton was always a bustling town, even before the revolution. It was the seat of the south. Charming women and gentlemen all called this place home. It was built around a large bay that made it a key port of call. The inner town housed the royal court and palace. It was huge building that once housed the many relics of human past, a place where humans would put their history on display. After the war it was completely gutted and designed as the dwelling place for the Queen. In fact it was the first project Levy oversaw, and it was then he first met the Queen.
Levy was about to get back to work when a knock came from his door. Getting up to answer it he thought it could be for only one thing.
"Yes?"
"The Queen has summoned a Mister Levy Adler to the palace at once." said the man standing at the door. He was a lanky fellow probably no more than 20 years old. His dress indicated that he was a messenger of the Queen. Around his arm was a band with a large "H" written on it. "H" for human.
Even though exhausted Levy knew he better not keep the Queen waiting. She was, he thought, in need of being updated about the new project.
"Alright give me a moment to get my things." Levy said.
"The carriage will be waiting by the gate." the young man said turning and walking down the steps of the front porch.
Levy placed the blue prints in a carrying tube and gathered up the rest of his needed belongings. Before leaving the house he took a final drink of the green tea. "So much for rest" he thought.
The ride to the palace was nice, Levy enjoyed looking out the window and seeing the life of the town as he passed by. There was always something to be done in the town of Doverton. Levy knew that the theater district would be the spot of the evening. Every night there were new plays to be played, his favorite being the saga of the great war and the bravery of the Queen leading the way. Even though he knew not all of the play was historically accurate he still loved the story line and imagination of it all. There were many bars along Grand street leading up to the palace. The once bustling restaurants of the past had all been replaced by V Bars, each competing to be the best in town. But non of the bars could compete with Freddy's, a small bar just off Grand street that was quiet, affordable, and to Levy did not change much since the revolution. It was to him a place to escape and relax from days of hard work, a place to take his mind off the present.
