A poem about the home commute
Aboard the speeding train
I travel alone
I don't want any hassle
I just want to go home
My first week in New York
Time's never felt so damn long
I always promised myself
That I could make it. Be strong
I hope I don't seem rude
With my music so loud
I just hope my headphones
Can drown out the crowd
Station after station
I remember them all
Riding to and from work
From sunrise to nightfall
At last I reach my stop
And climb the steps at Astor Place
And cross the street
To my home, my solace
