A poem about the world and the obstacles within it

The Shroud



Look around at what you see

Hatred and violence shroud the world

In darkness and chaos

Anger spreads through it all

Like a disease that has no cure

Fear and uncertainty cripples our spirits.

Ah, but look closer - do you see it?

A tiny spark of humanity amongst the rubble

Nurture that spark and share it with others

It will slowly become a flame with peace and joy

That flame will turn into a fire fueled by love and hope

The shroud finally burns away from our world

And beauty and light surround us once again
