There it was, finally. Our island. Our very own island.
There it was, finally. Our island. Our very own island. It looked beautiful above the waves of fog, but there was still one question to be answered: why had they sold it to us for only five dollars? We were still wondering when we went off the ship. We paid the Captain for the ride, and he went off with his ferry. My two best friends-- Arielle Holloway and Courtney Stone were with me. We were a trio. We were inseparable. We did everything together, so when this man came up to us when we were shopping, he told us about the island, and said he only wanted $5 for it. At the time we were suspicious, but that changed to joyfulness. Our own island! We set up camp within minutes, and then we went exploring. It was hot and buggy, and we were sweating like a river. But we saw nothing wrong. We saw a waterfall that fell into a beautiful glistening lake. We looked at each other at the same time, then ran and jumped in the lake. It was cool and refreshing, and we hung out there for a while. When we came out, we walked back to our camp because it was getting late. We walked for hours, but could not find it. We were getting scared. Where was it? It was 11:59, and when my watch clicked 12:00, we heard a noise that scared us half to death. I saw a shadow in the trees and nudged my friends to see it. They turned, and the shadow leaped.
