Ticky Poundy

“Who is making all that noise?”

“What?”

“That weird noise, the ticky poundy.”

“Ticky poundy… I don’t hear it. Matter of fact I don’t even understand it. What does ticky poundy sounds like?”

“But then you wouldn’t hear it would you. You have to have a certain ear for ticky poundy. I’m sorry.”

“You’re sorry? You’re sorry I can’t hear annoying ticky poundy? Why would I want to if it’s annoying?? Why would anybody? You think you’re better than me because you can hear ticky poundy and I can’t? I’ll give you a ticky poundy right in your…”

“Gerald Smith! “ a loud voice came from across the room.

Gerald stopped mid tirade.

“He… I…. He…..” he sputtered some more.

“Gerald go straight to the principal’s office! I will not stand for this kind of behavior in my classroom!”

“But….” Gerald sputtered again.

“Go!” Mrs. West yelled.

Gerald stomped away, fuming.

Later, at the game, Tim asked John how he was so sure Gerald wasn’t going to be playing in that day’s soccer game.

John told him he was a little bit psychic.

That reputation got him all the way through high school.

He did not do so well In college however.
