When a monster dies

What do you do when a monster
Do you just pretend
You didn't hear the cries
Of his victims

What do you do when Karma kicks in
You think it'll be fun
Then you're haunted by the rhythm
Of machines keeping a corpse alive

What do you do when your heart aches
He wasn't always like this
I'd do whatever it takes
To turn back the clock

To make him f****** stop
To look before he leaped
To medicate the disease
To be a good man until the end

He's gone. I miss my friend.
But not the man who died.
