Have some dark fun with a series of twelve night terrors told in rhyme.

NIGHTMARES
Will my nightmares never cease?

Dear God, I pray, let me sleep in peace.

My wife’s a boozer; like a fish she drinks.

My son’s a doper; a loser I thinks.

My daughter’s a whore; turns tricks left and right.

Yours truly was jacked by some bangers last night.

Will my nightmares never cease?

Dear God, I pray, let me sleep in peace.

My wife shags a bum who plays the guitar.

My son’s married to a porno film star.

My daughter’s knocked-up and dying from AIDS.

Yours truly was raped by a dozen old maids.

Will my nightmares never cease?

Dear God, I pray, let me sleep in peace.

My wife was kidnapped and buried alive.

My son crashed his car; he did not survive.

My daughter got ate by a grizzly bear.

Yours truly was fried in the electric chair.

Will my nightmares never cease?

What can I do to sleep in peace?

Perhaps if I ate not those late night snacks,
My dream train would roll on less bumpy tracks.
Perhaps if I read not bloodthirsty sleaze,

My dream boat would sail less perilous seas.

Perhaps if I watched not horror sci-fi’s

My dream plane would fly less turbulent skies.

No more cold pizza while lying in bed.

No more Steve King; I read Nick Sparks instead.

No more late nights watching spooky TV.
My dreams are now sweet, as all dreams should be.
