ew omg aaaaaaa

Walking in wet boots was never a good idea, though when it's inevitable, that's even worse. Chasing down the damn hyena that ran off was already a pain with the conditions my body is in. Hunger, anger, contempt, fright, envy, so many emotions running through my head, too many in fact. Following the blood droplets in the winter white snow was hard as I could feel my eyelids giving in, losing hope of being able to eat once again. Five in the morning, five in the damn morning, and I'm chasing after a hyena when I am in desperate need of sleep. All of the emotions left my body once I saw it. It finally got into my eyesight, I could see the bloodied and exhausted creature trying to rest. After how much blood it lost from the wound I created in its leg, I knew it was inevitable for it to slow down and stop at some point. Finally, it was there, my food for the day to keep me going, though its frostbitten fur most likely couldn't be used as a coat anymore, that wasn't going to stop me from trying. All the pain and anger left my body, as I stood up straight and readied my knife. The only thing I could feel was the twitches my muscles would make, as the cold raced through my blood, making me have animatronic-like movements. Trying my best to control my rapid heartbeat and excitement, I slowly walked towards it trying my best to not make any sound. At that moment, I felt heavier, as if there was a 100-pound weight on my back. Though I ignored it, I ignored anything and everything else around me. I was starving, and I felt like I was going mad with hunger, I'd eat anything at this point. Feeling the winter storm get stronger, and hearing the whirls screaming in my ears, I continued to push on. Each painful step, I knew would be worth it in the end once I got my hands on that nice, tender meat of the hyena. I'd make sure to savor every bite as if it were my last meal, or if I was a soldier going off into battle. No piece wasted, no piece left behind besides the cold hard bones. One crunch after another, till finally, I was within reach of the creature. I swiftly rose my knife, slowing down my shaking as much as possible, and drilled it into its back. I could hear the shrill scream of the hyena, its head cracking towards me, bearing its teeth in hopes of fighting back. Deeper, and deeper, the sound of a knife cutting through frozen skin combined with the hyena's ear-piercing screams is all I could hear. Pulling the knife out and over my head once again, I let out one last scream that drains almost all of my energy as I stab the thing in its chest as it turns to me. "Test subject 183 has passed the test, do we let him out now?" One voice asked. "He seems to handle himself well, he'll make a great addition to our game," another happily replied. As they're about to switch to another screen, the man looks straight at the camera and smiles. "Have I done good father? Did I pass the test? Can I go home now, it has been years since I've last seen mother," he says in a cold, yet satisfied tone. Seeing his son's empty and soulless eyes is what brought him so much pleasure. It always reminded him of his wife, just before she died from blood loss; to a stab wound in the chest years ago.
