Part 2 to what I’m hoping will turn into a novel of some kind. Ongoing
I have no idea how long I was sitting there before the orange flash of sunset distracted me from the macabre puzzle I was building, and disassembling from the landscape before me on my cliff top perch. I turned my head to what I figured was the southwest here. “I don’t think the sun should be setting that far south.” I mutter numbly to myself. I turn back to my puzzle. Dammit, I lost where Checker’s Pizza went. I refocus my eyes to see the landscape as it is, not as I remember it being, before it got buried underneath this primal wild land nonsense. Canada should not be this balmy in the fall, providing it was still fall, and for the billionth time that hour I wonder how much time had passed since I first *met* Lady. “Who chooses their own name? Who chooses to call themselves Lady?” “I do.” Were the next words I heard, spoken as if she was merely inches from my ear.

With a short, sharp shriek I launch myself a few feet in the air. I land in a rather undignified heap, I really need to get on top of the extra weight, and muscle I seem to be packing. When I roll myself onto my back I could hear a girlish giggle. “I can see why you enjoy doing that, slapstick comedy, interesting notion.” So it comes to this, the world ends, and I’m stuck discussing comedy styles with an asteroid that thinks its a woman. “That’s a funny story really. Would you like to hear it? It is only fair you know about me, since I’ve been learning so much about you.” An asteroid woman who can read my thoughts, there’s just no winning today. At this point having my mind read was one of the things I was least concerned with. With a deep breath I consign myself to the flow of events, and ask this moments most fundamental question; “If you would please, as long it finds its way to making sense of whatever the FUCK IS GOING ON!!??”
