The impatience of wanting. The power of knowing it’s best to wait for the right thing.

I would like to meet you now,
& have a thousand conversations
that seem to never bore me.
I’d like to know how
you like your eggs cooked.
Could you dance with me
in silence?
I’d call you the calm
& you would call me
the chaos.
Then tell me,
“I’d have it no other way.”
I’d give you the world,
if only I could catch it.
So instead I shower you
in my affection.
& although my impatience
is showing,
I will wait for you until it’s right.
I know you have a path to walk
& I still have mine.

- Here’s to the collision.
