A story poem. Husband finds a strange hair in his wife's clothing. What does it mean?
Now what's this hair, doing here
amidst all the stain and tarnished.
What's that stare doing there,
upon her face I wonder?
The sway of life, pulls through time
first one way then another.
Another life, another breath
and false tears from the anchor
It matches so, it glistens right
Held up into the light
It fits it all, just so right
Where has she been tonight?
Where has she been?

Questions through dinner fared
about as well as a sidewalk sale
drowned out by the rain
chilled with November's pain.
Won't look back into the light
It fits all, just so right
Where has she been tonight?
What has she done?

When has my skin gone numb
Why is my world swimming now
Where has this gone wrong,
I can't hear what you're saying dear.
We've known each other for so long
This won't hurt now, you promise.
I'm not standing as much as falling
not standing as much as falling
I've said it right,
I'll save my tears,
tonight is not where I'm staying dear
I've said it now
shouted loud,
the pistol in my hand does my talking
I've said it right
I'll save my tears
tonight's not the night, I'm falling
I've said it loud
Shouted out
Pistol in my hand
said it all
It matched so well,
It fit so right,
Every business trip was a hunting night
even so, bitter cold
How can you miss someone so bold?
every now and again
I'll be by to visit you my friend
a single rose, a single tear
for my huntress.
