Great American Novel Writers’ Cramp
Great American Novel Writers’ Cramp

36

Sam Adams
Was an aspiring writer
Lots of ideas float in his head

But no time to write
As he had a full-time job

Often thinking he would love
To take a year off
To get his great American novels
Out the door and into the reader’s hands

One day
He received a letter
From an attorney

The attorney represented
An estate that would remain secret
The donor is a rich secret admirer

Left him one million dollars
So he could take a year off
Enjoying an extended holiday
as he wrote his great novel

And publish his novels

The gift also gave him
An agent’s name
Who would work
To get his novels done

Sam thought long and hard
Who this secret admirer might be
Deciding in the end
It did not matter

He wrote his great novel
Which was published
To great acclaim

He dedicated his novel
To his secret admirer
And her/his anonymous gift
That allowed him
To live out his dreams.
