red riding hood twist. Hopefully will be continuing this.
The night of the howl
It was a dark and stormy night, with Rolling Thunder all around. Lightning flashed off in the distance, the wind began to pick up and howl through the trees. The leaves tried to hang on but to no avail. The wind tore through them free and carried them off into the darkness. It was the night before Halloween.
I was getting ready for the party across town. I had decided to dress as Little Red Riding Hood. I slipped on my peasant dress, lacing up my corset. I put on my clogs and then my red Cape. I was ready to walk to the party.
Halloween was going to be on Sunday this year and some of the people in town decided they wanted to have a party on Saturday. The young children got to play and go to the Halloween party first, having games and contests for them all. Then later in the evening the adults would be allowed to "As they say” let their hair down”.

The wind ripped at my dress and cape with greedy fingers. Thunder was getting closer and closer with flashes of lightning more frequently. I could smell the scent of rain, and I knew it wouldn't be long before the rain began to fall. So I started to pick up my pace, so I wouldn't get wet.

All of a sudden, I felt as if something was behind me. You know, like watching me. The hairs on my neck were sticking straight up and goosebumps were all throughout my body. Glancing behind me but I saw nothing there. Shaking off the feeling that I had I continued to walk towards the event across town, all the while giving myself a good talking-to.

The feeling of being watched is getting to me, my goosebumps hadn't gone away. I stopped and actually looked behind me again, and saw nothing. I turned back to where I was walking only to scream in fright and come to a complete stop. For there standing in front of me was a huge black wolf. Its dark red eyes glowed like rubies and the drool dripped from its gleaming white teeth. I took a step back and the wolf followed.

All of a sudden, the wolf started to change into something grotesquely and hideous. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was horrible. The movies didn't do this justice. The beast was at least 7 feet tall and very muscular. Where it's hand were huge claws were there. The very long muscular arms were lean and detailed, with a sprinkling of course hair. And not gonna lie here, I was quite petrified OK.

Talking about being petrified, I was so scared I started to shake. My heart was pounding in my chest. The adrenalin in my body was cursing through my veins, giving me the strength to run away from such a beast. But I knew, I had to wait for him to make the first move.

A deep and gravelly voice asked me “Why little Red Riding Hood, what a pleasure to see you out and about on such an eve?” he gave a hideous grin and licked his chops, followed by a cordial bowl. I didn't know what to do. I didn't expect him to actually talk to me.

When I didn't say anything or do anything but look at him in horror. A chuckle comes from deep in the beast, in an amused voice he asked “you on your way to grandmother's house?"

As he stepped closer to me as if I were to tell him some great secret. Of course, as he stepped forward I steeled myself to stand my ground, yet bent backward slightly away from him.

Straightening up I swallowed, and I took a straight step back. I took a deep breath and shook my head from side to side, never taking my eyes off him. He cocked his head to the side and rubbed his chin with his large gnarly paws. Leaning forward a little he looked at me “so, then where are you going my dear?”
Now, I know the story of Little Red Riding Hood, don't get me wrong. But I am not, I repeat not, about to tell this big old bad werewolf where I'm going. Cause I know he will eat everyone at the party. Just like in the story when he eats grandma.
So thinking quickly, I decided to point across the street to the local bar. As the wolf glances towards it, I saw my chance to run, and I took it. Spinning on my heel running as fast as I could. I ran in the opposite direction of the bar, and the werewolf. Heading straight into the woods hoping that I could lose the beast there.
As soon as I started to run and maybe about 50 feet from the wolf, I hear him. He is laughing. I glanced back cause I cannot believe what I am hearing. As he turned towards me watching me as I disappear into the woods. Then I hear the howl the goosebumps that were there before now or twice the size. My heart feels like it's in my throat. I know my time is numbered as I race as fast as I can into the woods. I leap over trees that have fallen and zigzag my way through the trees.
But I can hear him even as I'm running for my life, the thudding of his feet as he tears up the ground. He is growling and I can almost feel the heat of his breath on the back of my neck actually, it's so close. I loosen my Cape as I run, why because I had heard somewhere that if a wild animal is chasing you drop something that you have. The animal will more than likely stop and investigate the object. What the hell it's worth a shot I thought. Just as I'm about to let the Cape down it is ripped from my shoulders.
I let out a blood-curdling scream because the beast was way too close. With an energy that I didn't know I had as well as speed, I kept running. It felt like my heart was going to burst out of my chest. My legs weren't getting enough oxygen my side had severe pain in it my legs were on fire. Just when I think all hope is lost I see a light in the distance. I turn and head towards that direction trying to scream but I can't for them out of breath so I just keep running. Just as I can see the opening to the cabin‘s lawn and the light is much brighter now. My hope soars as I am almost to safely.

I feel the impact of the wolf hitting me in the back. Then my front was smashed to the ground. And then my head immense pain then darkness.
