A brief description of my wife and our youngest dog. I might add more later.
Let me tell ya about my wife, Angie, and our coonhound Buttercup. Angie is an avid animal lover. In our fur baby family, we have a red tick coon hound named Ruby, Buttercup, a yellow mountain cur, Yoyo and Tink, two miniature chihuahuas, Flower, a chihuahua/shitzoo mix, and three cats, Sam, Snake, and Mickey. She dreams of snuggling with all sorts of baby animals from miniature cows to baby tigers. I’m sure she would cuddle with and spoil any of them she could get her hands on. However, in our household the newest addition is Buttercup, a five-month-old yellow mountain cur.
Buttercup came to live with us in December. She was announced as “my Christmas present.” Angie came walking into the house with her jacket zipped up and a bulge wriggling around in the front of it. I thought she had picked up Sam the cat and put him in her jacket, Sam does love to snuggle after all. I asked her, “What’s in your jacket, one of the cats?” In response she unzips the top and out pops this little yellow head with perfect white eyebrows. She says, “Don’t be mad, it's your Christmas present. It needs me, and it has eyebrows!”
Three months later, Buttercup is healthy, crate trained, and takes naps like a toddler. Angie has worked with this dog around the clock house training her with puppy pads, teaching her to sit, stay, shake, give five, and wave bye. She is almost leash trained and listens better than most kids. She is a very intelligent dog and is attached to her human mama in an almost obsessive way. Buttercup’s entire world revolves around Angie. I don’t think I’ve met a happier, more well-behaved dog for her age.
