Where did you stay last night?
King Oliver's Creole Jazz band

Erastus had never been to Seko and would learn the way as she went. Her retro rockets would be all she needed to undock as she moved to the staging area to prepare to leave the system. Mars and the asteroids would be largely bypassed on the way to Jupiter where she would pick up enough speed to escape Sol's space and enter interstellar space. There she would setup for the jump corridor while checking her path in virtual reality as well as visual reality.
The universe was perceived in a multidimensional cyber model in which space time was divided into near space and far space. The ship would move from one to the other so as to minimize travel by jumping over near space in order to save time by staying in far space. This was done by jumping from relevant star to relevant star using them gravitationally to expedite the trip thereby skipping most of interstellar space.
