Horrific actions can only be committed by those who are brave. You sow what you reap.
"Kill Me," the zombie says, "it will do nothing but hurt you." It echoes the last words of the body's former soul. I take out my rifle and get ready to shoot. But I can't. My subconscious stops me. I recognize the creature's voice. And it's body. It's my best friend, or at least it used to be.
"This isn't you." I say. I know he can't hear me, but I say it anyways. I know that if I kill it, my friend will be free. But I can't carry the guilt of shooting my best friend. I put my gun back in it's holster, and I run.

I slow down as I reach the fort. I push open the big wooden gates, and walk in. "Howdy, Cammi, how was your excursion," Timmy asks. I put my hand up and walk off. I head towards my sleeping chamber.
I lay my head down and begin to drift off. I dream of a time long past. A time where the world was safe. A time when we heed not of zombies and killers. When all was peaceful.
I wake to the sound of alarms. This can mean one thing. We're under attack. "Cammi! We need you! Get out here!" I hear. I jolt out of bed and grab my rifle. I burst out the doors and there are zombies climbing over the walls.
