What do we know...really? I put forth it is very little. And I am Ok with that. Are you?
I am not here to argue anyone's faith because after seeking truth most of my life, no different to any other man, I can at least admit to myself that I don't know the truth...yours, or anyone else's.

I believe we know very little, if anything, about the truth; about the universe. We LIKE to think we know...that we are better than the animals that roam the earth simply because we have concepts they don't...that we are superior because of this one difference. I would ask...what good has it done us?

Be you scientist, scholar, philosopher or man of the cloth...no matter who BELIEVES they know what the truth is, is showing their arrogance. To think they know truth; to believe they are wise and see things better than their competitors...than anyone. And in so doing, gathering followers, supporters, worshippers and peers. Like-minded souls (if indeed we have souls) in order to reinforce their egos and dispel their insecurities.

Most people hope and dream that their truth is the real truth, but now know this...any man who says he KNOWS, either lives in denial, wallowing in his own ignorance, or is a liar (or both).

Faith is the opposite of common sense...I get that. I have spoken with so many people of faith, people as intelligent as any I have known. I don't seek facts because they are few and far between when we are speaking about God, faith and the possibility of an afterlife. About theory...when even our own existence cannot be proven.

This need to know, when we are very unlikely to ever know, has been taken up by organised religion and science (who are, at least, willing to admit when they invariably get it wrong) in order to gather credibility, respectability, adulation, power, wealth and an audience...a following.

And those who believe...who have faith in the teachings of whatever book...clutching at whatever is thrown at them in the hope that when they die, they will live on for eternity in the kingdom of heaven or whatever afterlife they spruik. All very lovely if it comes true. But for me, I will live and die and see...or as might be the case, not see.
