She softly strummed and roughly sang
the song Are You Lonesome Tonight?
Her voice a deep-South throaty twang
Reflecting in her eyes, prophetic light

Betrayed a Burning Love for you
Beside the sounds inside her red guitar
Our heated sessions bid a hard adieu
I saw you then at once, for what you are

It's Now or Never - now I know
That never is the answer to my quest
As far as lonesome goes, I'm surely low
But hold this truth inside: I loved her best.
