good or bad
In realms where time's embrace does not hold sway,
Immortality's enigma finds its way.
A quest pursued by souls both brave and bold,
To grasp eternity, a story often told.

Yet, is it truly a gift or heavy curse,
To live and witness the universe traverse?
Endless days may lose their vibrant hue,
As loved ones fade, and dreams grow few.

Immortal beings, forever in the light,
May yearn for rest in the quiet of the night.
For life's true beauty lies in its fleeting grace,
In moments cherished, in life's sweet embrace.

To taste the apple of eternity's tree,
Is to question what it means to be free.
For mortality's gift, a finite space,
Gives depth and meaning to the human race.

Infinite years, an endless, endless sea,
Yet the heart still longs for mortality.
To savor love, to cherish each sunrise,
In the impermanence, our true joy lies.

So, seek not immortality as your goal,
For in life's brevity, find the precious soul.
Embrace the fleeting moments, hold them tight,
And in that, you'll find your endless light.
