A sonnet based around my experience with a long distance relationship
Long Distance

The distance between us is too much to bear
Your touch barely lingers on my skin
It's too hard to even think if you still care
Your lingering scent always makes my head spin

I look for you in the strangest of places
Seeing phantoms of you in every shadow
My brain too cruel to think I could ever replace us
My heart without you is just about hollow

Yet you still make time for me

Through distance, your heart still soars
To me and we waltz together in junctures
Your voice is everything I so adore
And lifts me from my mind's darkest ruptures

For you, my love, are everything I hold dear
I hope through distance that that is clear
