A small poem about depression/other disorders.
Why do you go back
Knowing that it only brings you despair?
You tell yourself that it isn't true
While you wish you weren't there

Why was the once warm rhythm of your heart now thrown off
By the shiver of coldness freezing like winter winds?
The feeling of your brain working against you
As your emotions lie in the hands of your friends

Why do you question what you can't comprehend?
You search for meaning in an endless black mass
Knowing that even if you don't find what you seek
It is better than waiting for the despair never to pass

Why do you return to what you hated so much?
You have achieved that which you sought for
With a new unbreakable cornerstone in your life
That old chapter was locked behind a closed door

Why do you feel a wave of relief, as the questions come to a halt?
You have finally gotten what you longed for
You've taken back control and realigned with your goals
Without need to consult that old locked door
