As a child I went to London.
As a small child my mom took me to London. I will never ever forget London's creepy characteristics compared to Budapest or Vienna or Weisbaden.
First of all when I took a bath I played with the chain that linked to the plug nothing like in America.
Some of the elevators were very scary. Instead of a door like here, some were enclosed in a cage. My mom would have to manually open and close the cage.
The busses and taxis looked totally different. Double decker busses and black taxis looked strange as opposed to our yellow cabs.
The houses next to tall black fences were also very different. Everything looked so old.
We stayed in a dormitory at The University of London that tourists could rent in the schools off season. I would sit in bed and hear all the cars outside and wonder where are they going.
When we crossed an intersection in London, I could smell gas from cars. Nothing was like Tampa.
Dedicated to My Mom
